To raise awareness about Organic Agriculture in Bataan, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) headed by Engr. Johanna Dizon launched the ‘OK sa OA: Information Caravan 2023’ on May 10 at The Bunker.

OPA-Bataan has been actively engaging local farmers in organic farming and the cultivation of high-value crops, in line with the Department of Agriculture’s objective of achieving abundant harvests for a prosperous economic growth in the Philippines.

The program was attended by Municipal and City Agriculturists, farmers, representatives from farmers cooperatives and associations, and various stakeholders.

The event provided a better understanding of RA 11511, which amends RA 10068 or the Organic Agriculture Act of 2010.

DA Region III Field Operations Chief Elma Mananes, RTD for Operation and Extension Dr. Eduardo Lapuz Jr., SB Chairperson in Agriculture Hon. Romano Del Rosario, ATI RTC III Center Director Dr. Joey Belarmino, and former Board Member Gaudencio Ferrer graced the event.
